Higher Education, Ethos and Tekhnè for a new generation of researchers in artificial intelligence. Spring school organized by Sant'Anna School, Scuola Normale Superiore and PSL-Université Paris in the framework of the EELISA

The Spring School 'Ethos + Tekhnè: a new generation of AI researchers' is the new higher education course organised by Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Scuola Normale Superiore and PSL- Université Paris within the activities of the EELISA project. Scheduled to run from 6 to 10 March 2023, the course aims to align technical excellence with social impact in the next generation of AI researchers, combining tekhnè with aspects related to the dimension of ethics.
The application deadline is Thursday 2 February.


Course program

The school program will unfold over a week of thematic days around key chapters of the Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI. Each day will address a specific question, thanks to lectures in the morning and practical activities in the afternoon. The five topics will be:

1) the socioeconomic impact of AI
2) EU regulations for a fair and private AI
3) explainable AI (XAI)
4) AI decision-making biases identification and AI trustworthiness assessment
5) legal liability in AI

The scientific committee of the Spring School includes also Calogero Oddo, associate professor at The BioRobotics Institute, and Sara Moccia, assistant professors at The BioRobotics Institute of the Sant'Anna School.
